System 80 road speedlimiters can be fitted to almost any vehicle with a conventional throttle i.e. a cable operated throttle. By use of a solenoid valve, fuel is restricted to the engine, limiting the top speed.
The System 80 speed limiter is mainly only suitable for pre 2002 vehicles and engines up to Euro 3 specification. Many light commercial vehicles, vans and HGV’s used a cable operated throttle until legislation was introduced demanding stricter controls on emissions.
