The Drive By Wire (DBW) System is an entirely electronic product. Engine management systems have vastly improved to help combat emissions as well as other benefits, but this in turn causes problems when restricting fuel flow via a solenoid valve. This state of the art system allows communication to the vehicle ECU restricting the fuel flow electronically via the vehicle throttle.

System 80 road speed limiters can be fitted to almost any vehicle with a conventional throttle i.e. a cable operated throttle. By use of a solenoid valve, fuel is restricted to the engine, limiting the top speed.
